About Me
Hi there, I am, Katrina, the organiser of Paranormal Discovey in Dundee. Although I had experienced a few strange things growing up I always managed to think of explanations for these. Suppose I was a bit of a sceptic. However, since starting up the team my views have changed dramatically. In my opinion there is something going on that we just can't explain. . . . YET. Actually, I don't think we will ever be able to explain it all. It's beyond us as humans, I think, to comprehend. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. thank you for your coment on my profile. i too have had some things like cds move but nothing that would be odd to me. in regards to my question of if you think spirits can touch you i really think they can. i am just glad that it doesnt seem like the one that touched kyle was trying to hurt him in any way as i have heard of really bad things can and have happened to people so i suppose we are very lucky that way but it would have been really nice to see who it was
yes i think i have had a couple of paranormal things happen to me.
i must have been about 12 i was at home when i head a small child crying and what sounded like someone falling down the stairs.at first i thought it was one of my bothers but when i found out it wasnt i asked if anyone had heard a child crying .it turns out that a really bad thing happend not long after the house was built . i dont know all the details but i was told by the people that used to own the house before i lived there that the frist family that lived in the house lost both their children on the same day .the little boy and girl were playing .the little boy ended up hangin himslef and because the little girl couldnt lift him to stop him hanging he paniced and ran to get help but ended up falling down the stairs and breaking her neck. i have had a lot of poeople tell me if it was a dream but it was in the middle for the day and i was wide awake.so it just shows you when i first moved in to my own house it was the first night i stayed there and i was just about to go to sleep when i heard what was the sound of keys being dropped on the hard kitchen floor but i had my house keys on the bed side table. i when to take a look but there was nothing there so i just passed it off to being tired.until the next day.... i had pile up my cds in to neat piles and i had brushed up the floor, then i went out of the day.when i came back everything had been moved .the cd were in a diffrent room and all over the place and the bruch was on the flor in the hall. scarey huh. everything was fine i have never really been what u would call scared of spirits.i have been in the same house for nearly 4 years now without anything too unusual happening. lol i dont really get anything a vivid as that any more but my son (he is 9 months) has been acting a little weird. he keeps looking at the same points in our house and smile like some one is talking to him he also started scrunching his neck up and giggling as if someone it tickling him. can i spirit touch us and could we feel it if they can?? it is great being able to talk to someone without thinking will you think i am weird
Hey Katrina
Yeah you could say i enjoy paranormal things, the missus is quite keen also and i've managed to drag along her sis and mine and also our best firnds to various events. I have been on event where unexplained things have happened but not directly to me unfortunatley, my sis has been shoved in the Toll booth and it has taken her over 6 months to sum up the courage to go to another event with me but am draging her to castle menzies, but not before me and my partner join Ghost hunters Scotland for a night in Damnation Alley on the 20th, well looking forward to it. Our last visit to the vaults as you can see from pic, was the old part of Niddry st, and yes me and the missus went in the circle, i even had a jig, lol, we were told nothing about the circle or very little else about the place from a terrible company who i would be in no rush to ever use again, North West Spirit seekers, am not gonna go on and rant about them and bore everyone but needless to say they false advertise, cancel last minute and i have spoken to many with the same complaints, anyways always good to find another group of like minded people, hope to hear and share some interesting paranormal stuff
Hi Katrina thanks, we were meant to get married on fri 31st oct 08 originally fancy dress of course but a lot of things went wrong, we were broken into no insurance, 3 venues cancelled on us talk about bad luck lol, so we decided on that date as its the only time i do have luck ha ha.
Would it be possible for my husband and i to help some time on one of your investigations? that would be sooo good. We just got back from York and i had a few experiences there it was totaly amazing and it was my husband who got speaking to tori? i think and she told us about the site, soo glad he met her.
Just wanted to say Hi. and well done on the site its good to know there are more of us spooky people out there.
I would be more than happy to transport up to 4 people through to Crieff given the chance of meeting withyourselve and David. I feel that it would be of benifit throw some ideas around - soon !!!!
Regards Iain
Katrina,
Would like to meet you all at some time in the near future. But remember I don't have transport at the moment and will not have any until next Spring. If you are in the area of Crieff, of course, that would be ideal. Best Wishes, David R. Cowan
Hi Katrina
A get together sounds great!!!! I mentioned to Tori in an email that I have been able to 'sense' more since learning divination. I spend a lot of time in old houses being a builder and now sense definate happyiness or sadness or even bad feeling on entering a property. I have used planchetes, pendulums and dousing rods in my research over the years - trigger objects left overnight almost always have a positive response. All houses, castles, churches, stone circles etc which I have investigated have all been aligned on Ley Lines. David might be the best person to explain about negatively or positively charged energy given off by Ley Lines. I have spent nights at ancient hill forts and stone circles etc feeling welcome and safe - alternatively, I have experienced feelings of dread/hopelessness - even being victim to polterguist activity at some. I did work for a couple who live on the outskirts of Meiklour, Blairgowrie, renovating a house left to them by the wife's mother. The house had been gutted and was due for full renovation. Whilst wiring the house, both the electrician and myself heard what sounded like a large set of aluminium ladders crashing onto the upstairs floor above - on rushing up stairs found nothing in any of the empty rooms. In addition, screws for light fittings, metal brackets, small screw drivers, pocket change and even van keys dissapeared over the duration of the renovation works, only later being found within a recess in the attic when the Sky television man was installing a dish and running cables internally. Turns out that the wife's mother in her day had been a hoarder of small silvery items and trinkets and to date, they still find missing items in the loft recess. And Yes, the house does align with a Ley Line running east-west. I think a get together is a must I would be happy to fit in with any arrangements made Cheers Iain
Maybe we should arrange a wee get together and have a chat about all this fascinating stuff . I'm wondering how it ties in with our research into haunted buildings. I'm sure that both you and David can open my eyes a bit more to what might be going on.
In answer to your earlier question about what is the scariest event to date. Well, that's difficult. I have experienced a lot of strange things but sometimes it's not until afterwards that the fear sets in. Eg, you see something and think to yourself that it's just so and so passing the doorway or someone else's footsteps. Then you realsie that it couldn't be because you're on your own. That's when the goosebumps start. To date I've heard disembodied voices ,seen a candle move forward soff a shelf then move toward the gorund (not fall), been touched,
Hi Katrina,
I know of David Cowan, we investigated the same shop in Crieff for paranormal activity - although, not together and at separate times. My dowsing and kinetic energy research is just the tip of my interest iceberg really - I have always loved castles, grade yards, dungeons, tunnels, standings stones etc - you get the picture!!! I have always been intested in the paranormal, maybe the over active imagination of an only child, but something stirs my soul when I drive past an old house or stone circle etc especially on a dark, driech day. I did take part in a ritual to contact the devil years ago in a flat in Perth, the idea being that you recite the lords prayer backwards whilst looking into a mirror flanked by two candles and on completing the prayer, the devil would appear behind you. Well the guy reciting never completed the prayer, hurling the mirror from the 1st floor window to the street below - thus supposedly breaking any curse - needless to say, the mirror did not brake - a friend of mine still has the mirror in a box in his loft. Although, for a couple of years after the event, I was certain I could see shaddowy figures out of the corner of my eye. I would be interested to chat with Tori as I had a run in with some people sacrificing sheep outside Dunkeld years ago when I stayed there - their spokesperson warned me off one evening in the Co-OP, advising me to stay away from Birnam Hill Quarry - I of course didnt heed their warning, subsiquently visited again and took photos of shards of slate driven into the ground forming a large stone circle with 2 deed sheep lying in the centre minus their heads. I was visited a week later by a girl I had gone to school with along with her young, innocent 'female partner' (if I use the term Lesbian, it sounds like my true story is a blokes film script) claiming to be witches. Spent a bizzare evening with them, they seemed to know things about me that only a select few people would know. Conversation then turned to a battle between good and evil of which, they were the good and the peolpe decapitaing sheep and warning me off were evil - suggesting that they had high up jobs in Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh etc I visited their house in Perth and was surprised to find salt on the window cills and front door step, next to no furniture, all internal doors removed, all the walls and ceilings painted brilliant white, and every room with a 100watt bulb. On questioning this was told that evil lurked in the shaddows - reduce the shaddows ergo reduce the amount of evil Talking of salt on doorsteps - there is a small church up in Whitfield which has rock salt around its primeter - have you heard of this ritual being carried out at a christian site? It's good to talk - what has been your most frightening paranormal event to date? Must go for my tea as I'm heading to Rait historical Club tonight for a talk on All Roads Lead to Rait Cheers for now Iain
Hi Iain,
Much of what you have said ties in with the idea of David Cowan who we were lucky enough to meet this year. He gave me and Nat a wee taster session in dowsing. He goes further and believes that these ley lines and other spirit lines emanating from graves are the cause of some types of hauntings and ill healh. Especially poltergeist type activity. http://www.leyman.demon.co.uk/ His website is well worth a look as are his books which are a bit too in depth for me to be honest. So how does this all tie in with the paranormal for you and I mean as in hauntings/ghosts etc? Tori, our team witch, might know a bit about Dunino so I'll ask her. Rant all you like lol You sound like a really interesting guy so it'll be nice to hear what you have to say . Katrina
Hi Katrina - I suppose I'm looking for the folklore to any standing stones or stone circles etc in the area as I have their location on maps, individual photographs and a journal of atmosphere and emotions when visiting each. I have unearthed thousands of geometrical alignments of historical sites dating from Neolithic through to Medieval and covering a range of sites such as graveyards, churches, castles, chapels, burial mounds, stones and stone circles etc. My thoughts are that the deciding factor for the position of these sites in Neolothic times was based on energy from water which could be picked up using a 6th sense. Over the years, we are gradually losing this 6th sense, but still use the original sites to build directly upon - knowing of their earlier importance. For example, the parish church at Dunino in Fife is the 3rd church on that site, each being built on top of and into an existing stone circle predating the churches. The stone circle is built on top of an earlier grand burial mound, much like those at Clava Cairns, Inverness. These alignments are called Ley Lines by some people - I would not know what to call them, all I know is that I get a positive reaction from my divining rods when these alignments are crossed or when near stones and burial mounds etc. I've had a friend at Edinburgh University who is a statistition check over my findings to establish whether it is simply coinsidence that all these historical sites line up. Apparently, these sites line up too many times to be simple coinsidence. Sorry - I've started to rant, I have a tendancy to do this
